Chingari Shakti Foundation (“we”, “us”, “the Foundation”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
Information we collect
- Donations: name, email, phone, postal address and PAN (required to issue 80G tax-exemption receipts), donation amount and payment reference.
- Volunteer applications: name, contact details, city, availability, skills and any message you share.
- Partner / CSR & contact enquiries: your name, organisation, contact details and message.
- Consent records: the consents you give and the time they were given.
We do not store your full card or bank details. Payments are processed securely by our payment gateway (Razorpay).
How we use your information
- To process donations and issue receipts, including 80G receipts.
- To respond to volunteer, partnership and general enquiries.
- To send activity updates, follow-ups and reminders — only where you have opted in.
- To meet our legal, accounting and reporting obligations.
Consent & your choices
We rely on your consent for optional communications. You can withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us at reach@csfindia.org. Withdrawing consent does not affect receipts we are legally required to keep.
Your rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request erasure of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications.
Data retention & security
We keep donation and receipt records for the period required by law. Other personal data is retained only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised staff, and sensitive fields such as PAN are handled with care.
